A struck jury, or a jury that has been selected and sworn-in, is an important part of any court proceeding. In legal terms, this type of jury is also known as a "panel" or "venire." When a case is brought to trial, the lawyers for both parties will have the opportunity to "strike" or remove potential jurors from the pool until the desired number of jurors is reached. Alternately, jurors may be chosen through random selection, as in the case of a "jury pool."
